Maximize the time you invest on the things that will result in sales

I was chatting to a financial advisor about investments recently and it got me thinking about a sales person’s most precious investment…….what they do with their time!
We all have the same amount of hours in the day and it’s how we invest this time that will dictate what the return will be. Our rewards in life are in direct proportion to where we dedicate our efforts. I remember being told early on in my sales career to ask myself “Is what I am doing right now getting me to achieve my sales targets, if not, stop doing it!” The interesting thing is that we all know what we need to be doing, but don’t always focus on these things. Nowadays we have email, cell phones, SMS’e, BBM’s, internet, social media and many other things that can take our focus away.

“A man who dares waste one hour of time has not discovered the value of life.” – Charles Darwin

My challenge to you this month is to maximise your time investment in things that will assist in achieving sales results (prospecting, sales appointments, proposals, asking for referrals etc.) and minimise time that you are wasting (we know what these are). Structure your day for maximum sales effectiveness! If you can double the amount of time you invest daily in sales activity, you WILL see the difference in your sales results!

Have an awesome sales month!

Cheers
